We are a small woodworking shop focused on serving your specific cabinetry needs. Our style is a mixture of time-tested classical designs with the clean lines often found in contemporary pieces to create a more modern yet ageless design. Our shop was born out of the uniting of Teddy Dowling Construction, a well respected custom home builder native to Florence, South Carolina, and Steven Hayhoe, a certified custom cabinet maker from Canada. This partnership gives us the ability to custom design entertainment centers, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, closet systems and kitchen remodels around your space and personal taste. We strive to serve our customers by making available to them our talents and resources in bringing them a well designed, well built cabinet both the customer and Hand Craft Woodwork & Design can be proud of.

Steven Hayhoe
Teddy Dowling

Steven Hayhoe grew up in Toronto, Ontario and was certified in Cabinet Making at Humber College in 2001. He excelled in sports ever since he was a baby, becoming a professional water skier at the age of 15. His aptitude for problem solving and practical thinking has made him naturally gifted at working with wood. He has a keen eye for detail, and loves creating. Cabinet making feeds his need for creativity and hands on activity. Steven and Rebecca Sims, a Florence native, were married January 3rd 2005 and bought a house in Florence with plans to set roots in South Carolina.

Teddy Dowling grew up in Lamar, South Carolina, and has made a name for himself in the Pee Dee area as custom home builder with a great eye for design. His degree in both Civil and Graphic Engineering Technology has given him a good base for design. His past customers would attest to his high level of integrity. His background and work experience has given Hand Craft Woodwork & Design an edge in the current market.
